One of the most critical capabilities for any medium voltage connector is the ability to disconnect and reconnect under load without causing an arc flash hazard. Aputon's 15kV Separable Connector is available in a full load-break rating, certified to interrupt up to 200A at 15kV with an arc-quenching contact design. The connector uses a puffer-style arc extinguisher integrated into the probe assembly, which generates a high-pressure gas flow that elongates and cools the arc to extinction within half a cycle. This allows field crews to reconfigure feeders, bypass faulty sections, or connect mobile substations without de-energizing the entire circuit. When load-break operation is not required, we also offer non-load-break versions for lower cost applications. All connectors feature visible disconnect indicators and a fully shielded exterior to contain any incidental arc energy. Customization extends to operating handles (hot stick compatible), color coding for phase identification (black, red, blue), and laser-etched serial numbers for asset tracking.
